Product & Transformation Perspective

Companies that change might survive, but companies that transform thrive. - Nick Candito

If it were easy, more product, digital, AI, and organizational transformations would succeed, according to industry experts ranging from McKinsey to KPMG. For example, in 202351% of 400 tech executives shared that neither performance nor profit improved as a result of digital transformation. As recently as 2024, Atomic Work shared that 70-80% of AI projects fail.

However, it is possible.

Most consulting groups estimate that 20-30% of transformations are successful.

So, what makes for successful transformation? How can you tip the balance in your favor?

Find the North Stars.

Uncover, define, and follow real business and customer problems and needs. Hire (or find and upskill) people who lead with relationships, deep curiosity, and who can find and communicate 'the real crux' of a problem. Make sure you identify clear business goals and gain an intimate, hands-on knowledge (and baselined metrics) of what process, staff, and customer problems exist and surround the goal. Create energy and engagement around these problems and how the organization ideates to solve them. Implement small trials, and scale up the outcome. It takes a clear mind, focus, planning, and persistence to do this right, but with the best intentions and people, it's not only possible, but repeatable.

Mission & Outcome Driven Leadership

Financial resources may be limited, but potential outcomes are abundant. As a business-focused and mission-driven technology leader, I am passionate about investing in real outcomes for real people that improve and transform lives.

I often report into CIOs and work across the executive suite to ensure that organizational investment and resources accomplish and exceed intended goals. Far too often, organizations buy or invest in new 'shiny' technology, and far too often, they invest in the wrong problem, are not prepared with well-defined processes/training/people management, and ultimately do not achieve desired results.

Beyond product UX/UI design, I frequently invest in and design processes, implement new internal systems, and manage technology change to accomplish what is truly needed. The outcomes of this work are big and often transformational for my colleagues and the internal operations they support. You can check-out a wide range of process and systems designs below.

Alison is an amazing partner who makes big changes happen. In our partnership, she had a clear vision for where things needed to go and worked closely with her team and our team to bring it to life. Thanks to her leadership and collaborative style—trusting her team but jumping in when it mattered—our AI/ML pilot was a success and ended up being scaled across the organization.
